Associations and Websites

Listed below are online resources that may be helpful to you in providing support and answers to your questions on hair loss.  These organizations are legitimate , positive and leading the way in the hair loss community and the quest for answers.  Please note- there are many many more, these are just a few of our favorites.

www.naaf.org : The National Alopecia Areata Foundation.  Their goal is to raise  money for research, supply resources, offer support groups around the country and have their annual conference and many other events around the country.  They also have a wonderful newsletter.  It is worth making a small donation in order to receive this great piece of literature!

americanhairloss.org : The American Hair Loss Association.  Their goal is more to create public awareness of hair loss and to legitimize hair loss of all forms in the eyes of our medical community, the media and society as a whole.  They offer information and an online social forum for both men and women.

www.ahlc.org : The American Hair Loss Council.  This site is useful for hair loss solutions i.e. hair replacement systems and industry professionals.  They aim to keep to set a high standard for professionalism in the hair replacement industry.

www.aad.org:  The American Academy of Dermatology.

www.womenshairlossproject.com : A fantastic page of information that also offers a social support forum.

www.baldgirlsdolunch.org : To improve the quality of life for women of all ages who are living with alopecia.  Direct quote from the website: “no woman should ever feel alone with this condition.” It is a non-profit organization that pays for lunches that happen around the country.
