Coping Skills

Listed below are some basic tools that may be useful for you and your experience with hair loss.  We will expand on these as we move forward.

* Discuss your hair loss with people you trust.  In addition find a support group near you.  Don’t underestimate the power of mutual aid and face-face interaction.

* Explore alternatives (i.e hairpieces, wigs, not wearing hair at all)

* Be in touch with your feelings.  Work on recognizing and working through  shame, embarrassment and loneliness.

* Self acceptance is the cure
